🚷 Library Policy
- All readers must enter and leave the library by the main door
- Quietness must be maintained in and around the library.
- Brief cases, umbrellas, sticks, waterproof bags, etc., must be left in the cloak area, located at the library entrance.
- No reader should enter any part of the library marked ‘’PRIVATE’’ OR ‘’LIBRARY STAFF ONLY’’ unless by permission.
- No book should be marked, defaced or damaged in anyway. Readers will be held responsible for any injury to any book in their care and must pay for any loss or damage.
- All readers (no exceptions) must show any book in their possession to the library personnel/security at the exit.
- Smoking, eating, snacking, and drinking of any kind are strictly forbidden in the reading rooms.
- Any person who removes a book from the library without duly signing for it or fails to return a book when required to do so after due notice or damages library property, may be barred from the library and appropriate reports made to the management.
- The use of any naked light including candles is prohibited in the library.
- Readers must at all times obey reasonable request of any library personnel.
- Readers must ‘’ALWAYS’’ present their Library Identity Card to the Library Porters and Librarian on request.
- On the way out of the library, all library users must present their bags to the library porters/library personnel for inspection.
- Only CMD staff members are eligible to borrow library materials. External users, participants, visitors, children of staff, IT students and youth corpers are not allowed to borrow.
- Library users should keep their luggages and bags very well. The Library shall not be held liable for any loss whatsoever.
- Making/receiving phone calls in the Library is highly prohibited.
- No group discussion is allowed in the main reading area of the library, except in the discussion room.
- Any reader who fights with a Library Officer/fellow Library user will be dismissed from using the Library.
- Readers should not dress half-naked/remove their shirts in the Library.
- Any reader caught with book(s) will be prosecuted.
- All consulted books should be left on the carrels. Readers are not expected to shelve.
- The Head of the Library is empowered to suspend or withdraw all reading privileges from persons who contravene any aspect of the library rules and regulations.
